STORY AND CONTENT
“Deliver Us The Moon” is a single player survival and exploration game. In “Deliver Us The Moon”, the player is an astronaut tasked with the responsibility to travel to the moon with the prime objective to find an environmentally friendly solution for the continuation of mankind. The game is set in the near future where human civilization has come to a point where all of earth’s resources have been or are close to being fully depleted. In response to this, the planet’s major economic and political powers have come together to form the Worldwide Space Agency (WSA). The idea was noble but the results were a shamble. The constant bickering and secrecy between member states lead to the full abandonment of the lunar experiment. However those deep inside the WSA still believe in the cause and have come up with the idea to send a rogue astronaut to the moon to collect research and help save humanity from impending doom.
The Situation on Earth
The Earth is in a dire state and in the midst of dying a slow death. This mass depletion continues to bleed the Earths resources and speed up desertification. Without quick action the earth will lose both energy and nutrional resoucres leading to a catastrophic extinction of mankind.
Formed as a “United Nations” type organization for the countries that have gone to the moon to be able to pool their resources and make joint agreements. However, Like the UN, the WSA has more bark than bite and member states actively conducted their own experimentation based on their own interests. After funding for these bases slowly became impossible and the Earths condition continued to worsen, the bases on the moon had to be abandoned along with their secrets. The nature of each base is mysterious and top secret and it is exactly for this reason that the WSA must send a lone astronaut on a secret mission to learn what he can to save humanity.
The Astronaut – Controlled by the player, chosen by the WSA to go to the moon. The Astronaut is gender ambigous to give the impression that it could be anyone. The feeling the astronaut should give is that of mystery and inexperience. The player learns with the Astronaut.
A.S.E.(The All Seeing Eye) – The Robot Companion of the Astronaut. ASE will help you on your quest on the moon, assisting you with tasks out of your capabilities. ASE will also have Overwrites that will give him additional skills that will be handy as the game progresses.
Our goal is to provide our players with an experience which constantly addresses deep psychological emotions in order to develop a truly immersive experience. The theme we chose to portray is our environment and what can happen if we don’t do something to save it. The key idea is to let the player decide which course of action they wish to follow on several critical decision points within the game. By doing so, they will develop a storyline that will be affected by these decisions which will result in different outcomes. By giving our audience the opportunity to shape their own destiny, we believe that we will be able to convey a more personal message with “Deliver Us the Moon”. We have also combined a flexible state of the art gaming engine (UE4) as a solid foundation and coupled it with captivating audio compositions in order to reinforce essential moments within the game. We want our games to deliver a lasting impression that will remain with the player long after they have finished them.
